Here at Parkside Family Dental, we understand that these are difficult and uncertain times. You want to stay informed, but you’re constantly bombarded with information that’s not always accurate or helpful. Here are helpful resources to turn to during this outbreak:
Centers for Disease Control & Prevention
The CDC is part of the Department of Health and Human Services. Their job is to provide support and resources for all Americans, whether they’re in the US or abroad. During this outbreak, you can find information on the symptoms of the virus and homemade masks. There are also updates on cases in the US and guidance for travel, retirement communities, and so on. Follow the CDC on Facebook and Twitter for updates.
World Health Organization
WHO is a specialized agency of the United Nations. For an international view of what’s going on with COVID-19 and updates on the world’s progress in fighting the disease, visit their website. You can find advice for the public and health workers, as well as rolling updates on cases and deaths. There’s even a section called “Myth Busters” that corrects misleading or inaccurate information found on the internet. To get the WHO in your social media feeds, follow them on Facebook and Twitter.
NC Division of Public Health
Parkside Family Dental is in Cary, North Carolina. For local updates and news on the outbreak in our state, the NC Division of Public Health website and Twitter are great resources. You can learn about the state’s response to the virus, info on where to get tested, and rolling updates on cases by county.
Staying Healthy During the Outbreak
If you’re concerned about your oral health during these times, there are things you can do to stay healthy. Brush your teeth for at least 2 minutes twice a day, floss once a day, and use mouthwash. If you experience a dental emergency, contact an emergency dentist; don’t go to the emergency room. Check our website for any updates and contact us if you have any questions!
We look forward to helping you when we reopen in June!
